Atelier Demichelis is an ode to bronze. With a collection of furniture and lighting, it’s the intricacy of the bronze that gets the spotlight. Laura Demichelis is the artist behind the brand, and her vision to highlight the beauty of this material shines through in all of her work. The designs are contemporary with a modern aesthetic, yet infused with timeless elegance.
Laura was born and raised in Provence, in the south of France. She embarked on a journey to learn this craft and it led her to the esteemed Boulle School in Paris. In the year 2010, she earned her diploma in crafts with a specialization in the intricate art of bronze work. Her diploma piece, the enigmatic “Dérive,” shone with an unparalleled brilliance. It claimed the prestigious first national prize in the Inma competition, supported by the Riboud Foundation. It has since been featured in many exhibitions.
She has worked with renowned designers such as Van Der Straeten in his atelier in Paris and Stefan Leo in Berlin. In 2016, she set up Atelier Demichelis in the center of Toulouse.
Each piece that comes out of her studio is a labor of love and passion. The pieces are meticulously hand-crafted and signed. Whether a one-of-a-kind masterpiece or part of a short numbered series, Laura's pieces transcend the ordinary, encapsulating the beauty of craftsmanship in its purest form.
